Zero G Community Project #1: Hatching in Thin Air: Join the Elevation Project

If you’ve ever wondered why the same incubator can perform totally differently at sea level vs Colorado elevation, lets alone one elevation to another… you’re exactly the kind of person we’d love inside our Elevation Project.
Here at Zero G Quail Farms, we’ve seen first-hand how altitude, humidity, egg source, and shell thickness all collide to make hatching in “thin air country” its own little science experiment. Instead of guessing, we want to measure, compare, and improve hatches together — and that’s what the Elevation Project is all about.
What Is the Elevation Project?
The Elevation Project is our community space for:
Sharing hatch results from different altitudes
Comparing settings for eggs laid low vs hatched high (and vice versa)
Swapping notes on humidity, weight loss, and chick outcomes
Turning “my hatch was weird” into real, usable data
It lives in our Members area on the website — and it’s designed for people who like to ask:
“What’s actually happening inside that egg… and how can we make it better for everyone and make everyone's hatches more successful?”
Who We’re Looking For
We’d especially love to see:
Science-minded hatchers
Folks who are already weighing eggs, tracking hatches, or tweaking settings
Curious beginners who want to learn why things work, not just copy recipes
Breeders from all altitudes so we can compare results, as well as those that receive eggs from different altitudes
You don’t need a lab coat, just a willingness to pay attention, take a few notes, and share what you see.

Joining Is Simple (and Free)
To peek behind the curtain and get involved:
Head to our Members page on the Zero G Quail Farms website.
Create a free account (it’s quick and costs you nothing).
Look for the Elevation Project area and jump into the conversation.
That’s it. No paid membership required just to join the project, follow along, or start contributing your hatch data.
Why It Matters
Every incubator, every flock, and every elevation tells a slightly different story.
By pooling our:
Hatch rates
Settings
Locations
Notes and photos
…we can build a clearer picture of what really works at different heights and with real world results and controls — and help everyone hatch stronger, healthier chicks.
Create your free account on the Members page and join the Elevation Project.
Bring your curiosity, your notes, and your love of Coturnix — we’ll bring the rockets, the data, and the thin air.
