Behind the Scenes Pt.2
At Zero G Quail Farms, we promised to bring you more than just updates on upcoming projects and events we want to share the people, purpose, and passion behind what we do. Every great mission needs a launch point, and ours begins with family.
Meet the Team Behind the Mission
My wife, Tristi, and I have built this venture together from the ground up, combining our shared values of sustainability, community, and innovation. We started our farm in Florence, Colorado, as a way to stay grounded while continuing to serve, through agriculture, education, and community connection.
Tristi and I first met while I was still in the Army. She stood by me through deployments, long training cycles, and the unpredictable lifestyle that comes with service. She never blinked, never backed down, and she supported my passions — even making a two-hour round-trip drive every Sunday so I could keep playing paintball, a hobby that still fuels my competitive side today.

Over the last 15 years, our journey has taken us from Colorado to North Carolina, to Missouri, and back home again to Colorado — with our two sons and an ever-growing pack of dogs in tow. Through it all, Tristi has been the heart of our family and now, a driving force in the heart of our business.
Tristi’s Role at Zero G Quail Farms
Professionally, Tristi’s background is as diverse as the work she does here on the farm. She has years of experience in the medical field and has managed assisted living facilities — all while pursuing her education and supporting our family. Today, she serves as the Compliance Officer at the world’s largest model-rocket company (yes, rockets a theme that clearly runs deep here at Zero G). She’s also continuing her own higher-education journey, working toward her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with the goal of opening her own practice one day.

Here Tristi leads our compliance and research efforts, ensuring that everything we do aligns with both agricultural best practices and local regulations. But she’s also the creative engine behind our arts and crafts line, transforming quail feathers, eggshells, and other farm byproducts into unique handmade items. From resin quail-egg card holders and necklaces to cowboy hat bands made with feathers from our own flock. Her belief in “using everything the bird gives us” reflects our shared mission of minimizing waste and honoring the resources we raise.
Beyond that, Tristi’s creativity extends into crochet where she can look at a design once and bring it to life without ever following a pattern. Her work embodies the ingenuity and self-reliance that define both our farm and our family.
What to Expect from Tristi on the Blog
Through the Zero G Blog, Tristi will be sharing her insights into compliance, research, and creative sustainability — from navigating farm regulations to crafting handmade goods that repurpose farm materials. Her posts will offer practical guidance, inspiration, and encouragement for anyone striving to make their farm, homestead, or small business more efficient, compliant, and creative.
At Zero G Quail Farms, we believe sustainability is about more than the environment — it’s about supporting one another, learning continuously, and finding ways to lift each other higher. Tristi’s perspective perfectly captures that spirit.
So as we continue to grow, launch new ideas, and expand our community, we invite you to follow along with Tristi’s posts and get a deeper look at how our farm operates — both on the ground and behind the scenes.
Because every great launch starts with a solid foundation, and ours begins right here, at home.
