Veteran Owned and Operated
Zero G Quail Farms is a Veteran owned and operated family farm located in Florence Colorado founded on the passion for sustainability, connection with community, and of course the Coturnix quail. I (Brent) served in the Army from 2008-2015, with the 82nd Airborne and the 4th Infantry division. My service, including my deployments to Haiti in 2010 for the earthquake response and then to Iraq in 2011, profoundly influenced my perspective and approach to both life and business. These experiences, along with my desire to support fellow veterans has shaped our goals and mission to provide the best quail we possibly can. We are honored to be part of organizations such as the Farmers Veteran Coalition, Home Grown by Heroes, Colorado Proud as well as the American Coturnix Breeders Association (ACBA). These associations are essential for us in the goals of connecting with fellow veterans and highlighting the versatility of Coturnix quail as a valuable agricultural resource.
Our logo, which references a Coturnix quail in a space suit and model rockets, was created in reference to Coturnix quail being the first birds hatched in space for the purpose of providing a sustainable food source. This concept is not only relevant to the mission of our farm, but it also reflects in my wife, Tristi’s work with the world’s largest model rocket company. The logo reflects the symbolic representation of these connections and two worlds and how you can build off of all experiences.
Our Launch
Zero G Quail Farms officially launched as a business in 2024. It started with a conversation between the owners and one of those “I’m ordering these…Yeah sure you are” type of moments starting out with 8 birds hatching several years ago and somehow making it to adult hood. This hobby quickly evolved into a business where we keep almost 300 birds (breeding programs, hatching and eating egg sales) in addition to the 500-1000 in various stages of growth. We now provide hatching eggs, eating egga, live birds, and meat for feeder and human sales to those here in Colorado. Whether you’re a homesteader, a hobbyist, or a small scale starting farm we are here to assist you with your future.
